Well, we are talking about attitude here, not skill. Not only that, I don't see there is any alternative to FNIS.

The nexus MA is very open about what his mod does, in the Description. All FNIS is doing is checking the systems registry for moddrop entires and Skyrim entries, it's not that wildly different from FNIS checking your installation to check that it's installed to the correct location and checking what animation packs are present.

While Reddit may be blowing up, I didn't notice the same on the nexus forums or in the Posts section for FNIS. I was able to find a fairly recent (Feb 27, 2018) thread on the nexus called. The nexus MA actually helps the OP completely remove the Mod drop client so the OP can use FNIS. While what the nexus MA is doing may constitute an invasion of Privacy, no one is forcing anyone to use FNIS. He is also completely upfront about it. What he has done hardly meets the definition of Spyware or a Virus, as others have suggested. Assuming for the sake of argument that he is being completely honest about what the mod does in the second bullet under the 'NOTE' in the above screenshot, I have no issue with the mod.

You're free to do whatever you want. I had a mod installed that changed my sneak animation, and it also included a ESP file that modified some of the sneaking features. I didn't like those features in the ESP, so decided to get rid of it. (Only unchecked the mod from loadorder) But I haven't rolled back the animations with FNIS for users.
